Unity in Diversity: Navigating Internal Tensions

What does it take to hold a collective together when differences — of caste, gender, religion, politics, or power — inevitably show up? In this episode of Learning by Leading, Aayat, Tanvi, Philo, and Joshua open up about navigating internal conflicts in their communities. From bringing the lens of faith and identity into climate justice spaces, to navigating intergenerational tensions in feminist spaces, to rethinking accountability in queer collectives, they reflect on the emotional labour, care, and courage it takes to stay rooted in spaces of tension. Together, they unpack what it really means to build “safe” spaces — not as places free of conflict, but as spaces where discomfort, honesty, and repair can co-exist. Through their stories, they remind us that collectives aren’t built in moments of harmony, but in how we hold each other with care when things get hard. This episode is recorded in English.
